As Executive ChairmanInternational Managing Director Brian is responsible for the strategic development and profitability of The Leapfrog Group brand on a global basis.
The Scotsman’s work history is impressive and spans diverse roles including superstore manager, hypermarket general manager, owner operator of a fleet of 7000 rental cars before moving on to a chain of video stores.
Brian’s post with the United Kingdom’s Ministry of Overseas Development has taken him all over the world: Nigeria, South Africa, Bahrain, Oman, Dubai and Kiribati. Brian is also qualified as a prothetist for artificial limbs and organs.
With a successful international career that has spanned more than two decades, Nick formally moved to The Leapfrog Group in July 2006, following a period of consultancy for the group.
Nick has worked on some of the largest loyalty programmes in the UK and Europe, and credits his ability as a strong relationship builder as the recipe for his success.
Formerly, Nick held management positions with esteemed loyalty companies such as The Logic Group, whose clients included BAA, BP, Jet (Conoco), Ikano Financial Services and many others.
Client satisfaction is Nick’s high priority and as the commercial director of The Leapfrog Group, he heads up a team of dedicated and like-minded staff who strive to gain the best possible result for the valued client.
With over 20 years experience in the travel and tourism sector spanning the UK, Europe & Australia, Andrew has held various roles across a variety of business disciplines. Originally from Cambridge in the UK, Andrew migrated to Australia in 1992 working for STA Travel as Regional Sales Manager. In 2000 he took on the position of Product Manager for Lastminute.com where he was involved in the site’s Australian launch.
Andrew’s passion for marketing and an interest in consumer motivation, particularly in the online environment led him to Octopus Travel where he took on the position of General Manager Sales & Marketing, launching their site in the Australian market place.
Andrew worked for Flight Centre as Marketing Manager before joining the Leapfrog Group in September 2005 as Marketing Manager for the travel division. Always one for a challenge, Andrew is now responsible for heading up marketing across The Leapfrog Group and loves the opportunities and variety his new role offers.
Alex Thompson started his IT career consulting part time whilst studying a Bachelor of Arts majoring in Sociology and Classical History at Newcastle University. After completing his degree, he went on to study Information Technology at the Sydney Institute of Technology.
In 1996, Alex joined Monarch Consulting in the role of Network Engineer where he provided network support to the company’s entire customer base of corporate and government clients. He later accepted the role of Operations Specialist for WorldXChange Communications and went on to become IT Manager overseeing all new and existing IT projects for the company.
In 2001, he consulted for IngramMicro Australia before heading off on a four month trip around Australia. On his return to Sydney, Alex established his own consultancy as a Contract Support Engineer with a customer base predominately from the real estate and travel booking industry.
After initially consulting for The Leapfrog Group, Alex later accepted the role of Technical Operations Manager with sole responsibility for the groups IT and call centre requirements.
Alex has completed various industry specific courses throughout his career including Microsoft Technologies, Cisco, networking and call centre operations.
Having studied both Hospitality Management and Commerce in Sydney and Newcastle, Elle has a strong background in both Operations and Finance.
At a young age, Elle took on the role of Catering Manager for the Sydney Entertainment Centre. After 3 years developing strong operational, business and accounting knowledge, Elle shifted her focus to finance and EMI Music International moving up the ladder to Senior Accountant.
For the Sydney Olympics in 2000, Elle had the honour of being a Group General Manager for the Millennium Marquee Corporate Entertainment Area, servicing
After spending some time gaining experience on different contracts the next move for Elle was to Amalgamated Holdings and the Cinema chain Greater Union where she was the National Joint Venture Finance Manager for 5 years.
The leap to Leapfrog and Financial Controller came at the beginning of 2006 where Elle was quick to settle in and implement her team.
Having studied Law, Accountancy and Economics at Glasgow University, Douglas started off his career by completing a Chartered Accountancy apprenticeship at a medium-sized Glasgow firm.
Douglas then progressed his career by joining Deloittes as part of the (then) Big 4 Accounting firms and spent two years with them.
Leaving to enter industry Douglas had a succession of Financial Controller positions primarily in his beloved Scotland and travelled extensively before coming to Australia in 2002 to join The Leapfrog Group.
